How to configure Nameserver settings?

Configuration of your domain name should be done to use Hosting Nameservers so that your website starts to work properly.

  • If you registered your domain directly with Hostginger Hosting plan at the time of purchase, the name server configurations are set up automatically. There is nothing else you need to do.
  • In other scenario, either you buy your own domain from a different hosting provider or, you buy domain (without hosting plan) from Hostginger, in both cases, you have to modify the name server (DNS) settings for your domain to refer to Hosting's servers.

If you want to configure your domain name mapped with HOSTGINGER NAMESERVERS then you have to add these below-mentioned DNS records to your NAMESERVERS section.

  1. ns1-dns1.hg-dns.com
  2. ns2-dns1.hg-dns.com
  3. ns3-dns1.hg-dns.com
  4. ns4-dns1.hg-dns.com

You get a control panel with all domain registrars to manage domain's nameserver settings. To proceed with modification of DNS settings visit this link.

If you are unable to modify contact with domain registrars.

The majority of the time, it takes 24 hours for nameserver changes or new domain registrations to fully take effect. This is known as a DNS propagation delay, which affects all hosts. We have no control over this delay.

When your domain fully resolves you can do the following:

Visit your web site by going to the URL http://www.example.com, where example.com represents your domain name.

Access your e-mail accounts. POP3, IMAP, SMTP, and webmail will work after DNS propagation is complete.
